I would love to get that box set but of course the only thing that is stopping me is the price, that is why I went with the 6 CD box 😊

Excellent review and well deserved. I can’t see most of us getting this massive box set. I’m definitely purchasing the two disc set. I’m really only interested in b sides and unreleased songs.

My view on this box set is , I love it , but I think , they should have made the 10 Vinyl version’s that are in the box set , made available separately . Other than that , I have no issues .

A wonderful piece of art. The sonic quality of the music is amazing. It is also a rediscovering of sorts of a neglected album.

I don't think even Lennon himself would have thought that an album that was re-released on the budget 'Music for Pleasure' label was worthy of this hyperexpensive overblown treatment, but if it funds more physical media releases then I suppose it's ok. Having said that, the 2002 remix by Peter Cobbin was miles better than the original. I'm looking forward to the Super Deluxe Peter Jackson remix of the Star Club tapes, with Star Club ashtray, beer mug, West German work permits, and bottles of Prellies and antibiotics...

It's nice, but it's overpriced. I bought the All Things Must Pass Uber deluxe box set, and it's much nicer and over $300 cheaper. Although I would love to have it, I will be buying the regular deluxe box set.

This reminds of the fantastic Lennon ‘Yes’ Signature box from 2010 which made a collection of albums into a work of art.

Did anybody ever raise the issue of the song ‘I know, ( I know)’ and it’s knock off of the Beatles ‘I’ve got a feeling’ guitar riff ??? Somebody must ‘av.

Andrew delivers. My great hope is they don’t bloat the low end like I’ve found on some of John’s remixes & Giles Martin’s Beatles work.

as a fan I would love to get everything but the cost puts it out of the question. I am working on getting the deluxe box cd set however! Loved the Lennon Liverpool map and when you said it was available seperately, I checked it out only to be sold out. I will continue to see if will come back in stock. Do buyers have to design their own shrine to display this cube, in one of the rooms in their house, for to be displayed at it's best? I remember the first time I visited a friend with his own hi-fi room circa 1980, and with the hi-fi in the middle of one side of the room and his LPs either side and speakers suspended from the ceiling. Shrine type thinking went with serious music back then, and there was plenty of music to be serious about....

That a lot of money for nothing - not even a good album. And there is not like Lennon is alive again. Plus - a lot of Yoko stuff - so what does Yoko got to do with anything? Just throwing money away to the non-art of Yoko! Go for it!

Huge waste of money. You getting one for free doesn’t mean I have any sense of envy. The album really isn’t that good. This is probably actually worse than the Harrison All Things Must Pass uber box.

I am happy for you... but, for me, this defines the terms theater of the absurd , not to mention bloated excess. After the LP's and CD/blu ray box, which should run , at most around $500.00 for all the music (12 songs in different configurations without including the hidden tracks), it is an extra $800.00 for lots of cardboard, trinkets, paper and narcissistic stuff of nonsense. At least they threw in a UV torch. I just received the gorgeous Jethro Tull "Bursting Out" book box set. 3 CD's, 3 DVD's with high res surround mixes, an hour video "Live At Madison Square Garden" included, a beautiful book full of information, color photos, etc.... for $67.00. Enough said.

The only problem I foresee is that it'll take two people to put it back together again. How very Fluxus.

Beautiful set. Great unboxing video. But I’m happy with the standard 6 cd box to go along with the previous sets. I hope they sell out though to encourage them to continue with more Ultimate sets.

Even though I definitely won’t buy this gorgeous set, this video definitely makes me want to buy the 2LP vinyl : if it’s packaged the same way as in this box, I’m really happy to see poly-lined sleeves ! I hate the inner sleeves that are included in the Imagine and Plastic Ono Band reissues, they have scratched my LPs 😡

Your excitement is addictive. Yoko must have had a real hands-on approach as her art and humour are all over this release. Thanks for sharing, love the box, can’t afford it but lovely to see… would love to see the zoetrope released separately and the maps are fantastic. Cheers.

Hi Andrew Just for fun and out of curiosity I wonder where you would have tanked: "Yellow Submarine Songtrack" or "Get Back" had it been issued originally as it appeared on the LET IT BE boxset.

Hi Andrew very glad you got sent this and thanks for showing us all of its contents. Fascinating - not something I would want myself or be willing to pay that much for, but it's obviously had a lot of time and care spent on it. Personally I'm happy just getting the music but it's intriguing!
